Job description

As part of their role, Associate Professionals are entrusted with the task of delivering comprehensive accounting assistance to FTP clients. Their primary focus lies in generating precise financial statements while fostering a close partnership with transaction processing personnel to address finance and accounting issues. Notable responsibilities encompass:

  • Assume a proactive role in defining and upholding Sutherland’s reputation by exemplifying exceptional accounting practices.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy by jointly preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements. Conduct analysis of income statement accounts, perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, and proactively identify and address any issues while offering valuable recommendations.
  • Manage the timely availability of updated information by creating monthly, quarterly, and yearly schedules for management personnel, external auditors, and SEC reporting. Furthermore, actively contribute to the preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Foster stronger relationships by closely collaborating with business units to formulate division budgets and ensure precise record-keeping in the financial system. Cultivate a customer-centered work environment by actively partnering with the Manager, peers, and staff.
  • Demonstrate analytical and creative skills by implementing strategies to gauge customer satisfaction and collaborating with the Manager and staff to elevate the overall standards of customer service.
Education
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a four-year college or university, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in various software applications programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with financial systems is also required.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and the ability to apply that knowledge effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong customer service orientation demonstrated through previous relevant roles.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with employees and staff within the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for reviewing financial data and generating reports and statements that meet company standards.
  • Proactive approach to take ownership of business unit accounting work, enabling financial analysts to focus on providing financial support to the business.
