Responsibilities
Joining IBM India Systems Development Lab (IBM ISDL) as a Software Engineer presents an exciting prospect to engage in every aspect of product development, encompassing Design/Development, Test, and Support. This role offers the chance to contribute to the advancement of core Systems technologies, ranging from Operating Systems and Firmware to Systems Software, Storage Software, and Cloud Software.
As a Software Developer at ISDL (IBM India Systems Development Lab), you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills and expertise in designing, developing, and supporting software solutions across a wide range of domains. This role enables you to actively contribute to the growth and innovation of ISDL’s projects, leveraging your proficiency in coding and problem-solving to drive impactful outcomes.
- Your main responsibility will be to develop IBM Systems products, collaborating with development and product management teams as well as end users across different geographical locations.
- Analyzing product requirements and designing the optimal solutions.
- Implementing and coding the solutions, while ensuring thorough testing throughout the product development life cycle.

Required Skills
- Proficient in various systems software programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, Python, GoLang, ReactJS, and Groovy.
- Solid knowledge of operating systems concepts, such as Unix/Linux internals, as well as proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working with cloud computing technologies, specifically Red Hat OpenShift, microservices architecture, and Kubernetes/Dockers.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate efficiently within a global team environment.
- Possession of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a relevant field.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with OpenStack, security, virtualization management, cloud concepts, REST API, JSON, application development on a cloud platform, and DevOps.
- Proficiency in web UI frameworks such as Vaadin and ReactJS, as well as expertise in UI styling libraries like Bootstrap and Material.
- Familiarity with J2EE, JSP, RESTful web services, and GraphQL API
- Practical working experience with Java, JavaScript, Ansible, databases, SQL, and Node.js, among others.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively to team efforts, achieving desired outcomes as required.
